Analysis Of On The Sidewalk Bleeding - 1293 Words

Lall 1 A wise woman once said, â€Å"There is a time for everything - a time for being born and a time for coming of age. There is a time for death, too.† (Barbara Bel Geddes). Most human beings go through a transition from adolescence to adulthood through an experience that opens one’s mind towards an unfamiliar and new perspective of life. That said, in literature the concept of coming of age is used to engage teenagers by molding and creating characters that he or she can relate to. Correspondingly, Evan Hunter’s â€Å"On the Sidewalk Bleeding† introduces the protagonist Andy, who experiences characteristic growth through the coming of age. Throughout Hunter’s story, Andy is put forth to portray the development of transforming from†¦show more content†¦He was not a Royal. He was simply Andy, and he was dead.† (Hunter, 5). Nevertheless, how elated Andy was when he first joined the Royals he realized that the title meant nothing and he obliterated this irrational thought from his mind. He did not want to die a Royal, but as the person who he was, who he wanted to be remembered as; Andy. As Andy continues to reminisce, his mind expands towards the conclusion that â€Å"[e]ven in his pain, there had been some sort of pride in knowing he was a Royal. Now there was no pride at all†¦[He] want[s] to be Andy.† (Hunter, 6). Unquestionably, affiliating with a gang is not a pride-gratifying accomplishment. Hunter demonstrates this growth through the protagonist Andy. Andy now understands the complexity of what the real-life view is of being part of a gang; The Royals. Furthermore, knowledge of the world comes with an understanding between what is ideal versus real. Naturally, adolescents grow out of idealistic thinking. As one enters the real world, he or she understands what is realistic and what is impractical. Hunter portrays idealism versus realism through Andy. During the time that Andy is suffering in the alleyway his mind wonders off to his lover Laura. Thinking about her takes his mind off the pain he is experiencing. The protagonist has an unrealistic view of his future. Leadership As The Radio / Cic Supervisor Provided Me With...

1. Leadership is not over at the end of the day when you sign off of your computer and head home. Social Media Analysis On The Internet Essay Example For Students

Social Media Analysis On The Internet Essay Social media analysis has become an important component in harnessing all of the low-cost tracking and monitoring features that are available on social media platforms. While traditional data collection could take months or even years, social media analysis can occur within minutes using minimal human resources directed towards the monitoring and surveillance of health determinants on the Internet. Another important analytical tool that has been developed and improved upon are Internet-based interventions such as application to incorporate data that can track behavior patterns in individual patients. These data tools can be incorporated in the form of applications on mobile devices and smartphones, by using sensors and personal data, to help health professionals monitor and track mental health concerns and behavioral patterns in patients. The use of these tools and application allow health professionals to generate a continuous and passive collection criteria, over a specified period of time that is theoretically free of self-bias on reporting assessments (Peek, 2015). Depressive disorders present a challenge in public health in terms of mortality, morbidity, cost, and prevalence worldwide (Burns, Begale, Duffecy, Gergle, Karr, Giangrande, Mohr, 2011).One of the first steps into expanding access to mental health services in a community is generating a strong and well-defined social media campaign. It is through these campaign efforts and resources to generate support during the campaign period, where individuals within the community are able access services and better support systems for an overall better health outcome. As indicated by Egan and Moreno (2011) when addressing non-communicable diseases such as mental health c. .te Havard, 2015). Communicable diseases have greatly benefit from the emerging field of infodemiology, and in the future non-communicable diseases will be equally effective for health care professionals in providing better analytical data for tracking and monitor health patterns. Additional the expedition of infodemiology and the incorporation of mobile phone analytical tools for behavioral and mental health concerns have the potential exist to identify those at high risk while providing more comprehensive patient care and in more appropriate time frames. Surveillance using infodemiology, for communicable disease surveillance to generate data from multiple platforms is not new, but how its incorporation can occur into behavioral health for more accurate measurements and insight to risk behavior patterns could be a potential turning point for health determinants.
